Cristina Perona Bermejo holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Granada, where she carried out her research career as a predoctoral researcher (2021–2025) and subsequently as a postdoctoral researcher (2026).
Her research has focused on the development of porous metal–organic materials for applications in catalysis, adsorption, pesticide decontamination and biomedicine, as displayed in her high-impact scientific output. During her career, she has gained solid skills in organic and inorganic synthesis, laboratory management, and a wide range of advanced analytical techniques.
In the MERYT team, Cristina Perona works as a technology researcher on the development and characterization of advanced metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) for CO₂ capture and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production.
