Senior Vice President (retired), BASF
Internationally oriented and versatile executive who supports companies in their growth process thanks to the experience gained in multinational chemical companies such as Ciba-Geigy and BASF. He worked at the C-level and across different regions, often with global responsibility. In his last position, he oversaw the Middle East region for BASF’s portfolio. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President for Plastic Additives in Europe and, as a member of the Executive Committee of Ciba Specialty Chemicals, led the Plastics Industrial Platform during the integration into BASF. He participated in various mergers and acquisitions projects as lead negotiator and coordinated the financing of acquisitions.
Currently, he is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of APK AG, Commercial Director and Board Member of the Research and Medical Chemistry Group, and Senior Advisor to RUG Ventures, a holding company that provides funding for academic spin-offs.

Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences (specializing in Chemical Engineering) from the University of Barcelona.
I began my professional career at REPSOL, at the Escombreras Research Center (Cartagena), studying ion exchange catalytic resins for the synthesis of MTBE/ETBE. After several years working in pilot plants, studying various refining processes—particularly gasoil hydrotreating and gasoline hydrodesulfurization—I moved to the Repsol refinery in Cartagena, where I worked in the Quality Control Laboratory and the Process Department, focusing on Lubricants and Hydrotreating. I served as coordinator of the refinery’s Solomon studies and was responsible for Industrial Testing. In my final years there, I was the refinery’s catalyst coordinator.
In 2011, I joined IMCD Spain, a distributor of chemical specialties, where I worked as Product and Project Manager, representing leading chemical companies in Catalysts and Adsorbents for the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
In February 2016, I launched my own company, MERYT Catalysts & Innovation, to offer my knowledge and experience to clients in the refining and petrochemical sectors.
We supply the optimal catalysts and adsorbents for each process, with the best technical support.

Senior Advisor for Development, Innovation, and Research
Vice President (retired), BASF Corporation
Senior executive in Research and Development with extensive academic and industrial experience at a global level. His most recent responsibilities at BASF included research and development in the area of fluid catalytic cracking, as well as catalyst characterization.
Previously, Dr. Rodkin was responsible for the research and development of adsorbents and heterogeneous catalysts for chemical transformations such as hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, isomerization, and Ziegler-Natta polymerization. Earlier in his career, he led R&D in the field of catalysis for the reduction of harmful emissions from mobile sources, including cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, and other gasoline and diesel vehicles.
His prior industrial affiliations before joining BASF include Delphi Automotive and Monsanto/Solutia.
Dr. Rodkin served as a member of the New Jersey Research and Development Council from 2016 to 2020.
Currently, Dr. Rodkin is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Integrated Mesoscale Architectures for Sustainable Catalysis (Harvard), and actively collaborates with numerous academic institutions.
He holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia.
Senior Legal Advisor
Highly experienced executive currently serving as Managing Director of ECOTIC — a non-profit organization providing environmental services to the electronics industry — and formerly as President and CEO of Ciba in Spain and Italy, as well as Managing Director of Ciba Portugal. He also served as Executive Director at BASF and was a member of the Executive Committee overseeing the integration management for Southern Europe.
He is currently Chairman of the Supervisory Board of weee Europe AG and a Board Member of the WEEE Forum. He is accustomed to working in complex multinational environments with a strategic focus on achieving the company’s global objectives, while being responsible for meeting local operational goals.
He has a proven track record in managing and optimizing organizational resources, business management, and financial, administrative, and operational control. He also has extensive experience in change management and human resources functions, all aimed at contributing to profitable sales growth and ensuring a healthy financial performance of the Group companies under his leadership.
Senior Technical Advisor – Adsorbents
Saeid Mokhatab is one of the most recognized names in the natural gas community for his contributions to advancing technologies in the natural gas processing industry. He has been actively involved in various aspects of large-scale gas processing projects, from conceptual design to plant startup and operational support.
He has delivered presentations on gas processing technologies around the world and has published over 300 technical papers, as well as two renowned handbooks with Elsevier, co-authored with leading experts from major international engineering companies and prominent process licensors.
His numerous publications, which are widely read and highly respected, have set technical standards in the natural gas processing industry and are considered by many as key references for any gas processing or LNG project under development. He has held technical advisory roles for major professional journals, societies, and conferences in the gas processing field, and has received several international awards and medals in recognition of his outstanding work in the natural gas industry.

With 37 years of experience in the industry (Repsol, Enel) and academia (University of Málaga and Politecnico di Milano), he has worked on R&D projects and industrial plant optimization, collaborating with public research centers (CSICYT, universities) and technology companies. This experience has provided him with a deep understanding of current technologies and a clear vision of the technological challenges ahead in the energy transition of the industry.

Technical Sales Engineer
Industrial Engineer with a Master’s degree in Energy Efficiency.
Irene studied Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena. After several years working on thermal installations in buildings, she decided to focus her career on Energy Efficiency, earning a Master’s degree from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.
She works in the Technology Department, preparing technical proposals and documentation for all products in the three languages she speaks: Spanish, English, and French.
Thanks to her creativity and excellent organizational skills, she also collaborates with the Marketing and Administration departments.
